Big Update
Lots to tell…
Hello again peeps,
It’s been a while so I thought I’d better post an update.
Firstly, I currently have 3 releases out and about. My debut 7” on Freestyle Records, “Roderigo”, a double remix 12” on Record Kicks, “Giorgio’s Brother” b/w “Wait A Minute”, and a cheeky remix of “A Taste of Honey”, a 7” on Social Beats. They’re all doing really well and my thanks go to all of y’all who have either bought or played a copy out whilst DJing…long may it continue…
Next, the debut Lack of Afro album is coming along nicely and is really beginning to take shape as I’m working flat out on it at the moment! Entitled “Press On”, it will be released on Freestyle Records in June 2007 (tbc). Containing elements of deep funk, jazz, hip hop, a bit of latin and a few suprises it’s lookin’ like a good un’ so keep your eyes peeled for teaser clips to appear on this site very very soon…
I am also working on a few more remixes – two for Leeds-based funksters The New Mastersounds; “Land of Nod” and “Idle Time” one of which will appear on the forthcoming Record Kicks album “The New Mastersounds Remixed” (date tbc). Also one for Dutch jazzers “The Houdinis” called “Fat Groupie” to be released on Social Beats Recordings (date tbc).
And finally some news which has just been confirmed today. I have been approached by those funky peeps at Record Kicks to produce the forthcoming album by US soul band “The Diplomats of Solid Sound”. This is a first for me but one which I am really looking forward to as these guys are talented peeps (as well as having a sweet female vocal section called The Diplomettes!
